Johann Paul Schmidt, Leipzig, circa 1685, date letter incuse X
Cylindrical and on domed foot with flat border repouss and chased with band of shells and foliage, the sleeve pierced and chased with three oval scenes of figures and buildings with scrolling foliage between, domed cover similarly decorated and with bifurcated thumbpiece and replaced ball finial, marked on foot, and struck with later Dutch control marks
