Maker's mark of Friedrich I Schwestermller, Augsburg, circa 1685
Cylindrical and on domed spreading base repouss and chased with a band of flower heads and leaves, the cylindrical sleeve repouss and chased with two scenes from the History of Troy, one when Aeneas was summoned to the hunt by Dido, Queen of Carthage and the other with Aeneas taking leave of Dido, the hinged domed cover with flat border similarly chased with flower heads and foliage and detachable ball finial, with bifurcated thumbpiece and scroll handle, marked on base, body and cover
