Maker's mark of Paul Solanier, Augsburg, probably 1710
Cylindrical and on domed spreading foot applied with six openwork panels with scrolling foliage, the detachable applied sleeve pierced, repouss and chased with an angel and biblical figures with scrolling foliage in between, the upper rim prick-engraved with inscription dated 1700, the hinged domed cover applied with openwork foliage and cherub's masks, the centre with detachable plaque engraved with the Crucifixion, with bifurcated thumbpiece and scroll handle, marked on cover and foot
