Aldine 8 (208 x 118mm). Aldine device 3 on title, repeated on final verso. Contents and dedication in italic type, text in Greek, initial spaces with guide-letter. 35 lines and headline. Without blank *12. (Very light soiling to title.) 18th-century red morocco gilt, gilt edges (tiny wormholes in spine, light wear at extremities). Provenance: early inscription trimmed from title, occasional early annotations (slightly trimmed); C. Lloyd (modern flyleaf inscription).

Second edition in Greek of 'the authoritative source on the materia medica of antiquity' (Norman-Garrison-Morton 1786). This edition, the second printed by Aldus, is 'purer' than the first, with the interpolated passages excised and printed together on fos. 214-37.
