Engraved title, half-page engraved portrait of Mercator, 28 engraved maps on guards, all but one double-page, woodcut text diagrams, ornamental tailpieces. (Browning, sometimes heavy, some spotting, heavier in index, repaired marginal tear in one plate, some marginal dampstaining.) 17th?-century reversed pigskin (defective, lacking rear cover).
