A commendatory verse to a busy housewife - 'So rich at heart is the German woman, But much too poor my Danish poem!'.

The dedication is to one of the daughters (probably Mathilde) of Karl Heuberger, a council member in Saint Goar on the Rhine, where Andersen was staying on his way back from his stay in Italy earlier that year. The verses were published posthumously in Samlede skrifter (1875), vol.12, p.438.
