Mars and Venus surprised by Vulcan
engraving, 1585, first state (of three), a very good impression, watermark double-headed Eagle, with a narrow margin at the bottom, trimmed just inside the platemark at the other three sides, retaining a narrow strip of blank paper beyond the borderline, the right sheet corners skilfully made-up, a further similar repair at the centre of the upper sheet edge, slight staining and discoloration, carefully mounted at sheet edges within a larger sheet of wove paper
