GOOD BEARS OF THE WORLD

Founder: The late Lt-Col T R Henderson (Col. Bob)

Everyone loves a teddy bear, but Good Bears of the World know exactly what a friend a teddy bear can be. Started in Great Britain in the early 1970s by teh late Lt-Col T R Henderson in Edinburgh, Good Bears of the World (UK) Trust is now based in the south of England, although their membership is country-wide. On request, Good Bears of the World send good bears to sick, injured or disturbed children, the lonely, elderly or infirmed. Hospitals, Hospices, Macmillan nurses and many Emergency Services encounter situations where the gift of a bear can bring instant comfort. In their own small way Good Bears of teh World aim to bring a little happiness into a sometimes sad and distressing world. Good Bears of the World belive the love of a teddy bear is forever.
Since 1991 when the running of GBW was taken over by Audrey Duck and her wonderful committe the Trust has gone from strength to strength. The membership stands at 600 plus, and the distribution of their Comforting Good Bears went past the 2,000 mark last year. Good Bears of the World are sure this will continue and increase into the next century as there is a lot of pain and sorrow in this world of ours that Good Bears could ease a little. With donations and subscriptions they keep going, and so far have never had to say no to a request and hope that will always be the way.

Please note, 'James' featured on the Front Cover is the final prototype and not No.1.
