A late 20th-Century planetary timepiece
signed on the meridian circle 4 F.H. Whitlock, the planetary motion driven by a gear train from the clockwork mechanism, the planets represented by facet-cut coloured glass cones, with gilt-brass sunball, the miniature model of the earth painted with the land masses in light blue over a dark blue ground, the moon painted on one side in silver, on the other in black, the celestial horizon circle engraved with the months of the year and the signs of the Zodiac, raised on four scroll supports, the clockwork mechanism with two drum dials, the upper labelled in Arabic numerals, the lower in Roman, raised on a fluted and tapering stand with circular plinth base -- 20in.
