Lot Essay

In the spring of 1946 Jorn travelled to Sweden and stayed for some weeks with the artist Nils Wedel on the island of Orust, near Gothenburg. From there he went to Stockholm and later to Saxnas in Lappland where he spent most part of the summer. During this period Jorn developed his interest for psychoanalysis which was to play an important role in his work. The present lot was a gift to Mr Stig Alund in Stockholm with whom he stayed while in Stockholm.
