A one-draw telescope, by Voigtlnder & Sohn, Braunschweig, 24in. long when closed, nickel-plated fittings engraved EH Bayly RN, and black leather sleeve; a Full Dress sword-belt for a Captain, with three rows of gold embroidery and richly-gilt KC clasp, together with two other clasps (one QVC, one KC); a boatswain's nickel-plated whistle; an officer's embroidered KC cap-badge on black mohair band; seven Victorian cap-tallies (of HMS Mohawk, Pelorus, Pembroke, Conqueror, Canopus Rattlesnake and CDR Boats Crew);approximately 45 QVC RN buttons of various sizes; together with documentation including manuscript notes dated 1900, relating to the Boxer Rising in China, with some Field Telegraph "flimsies", extracts from the Navy and Army Illustrated and other newspaper cuttings including one dated 31 August 1901 showing Lord Jellicoe as a Flag-Captain, some photographs of Bayly as a Commander and a panorama of a river-front; and various publications, including OFFICIAL CRESTS OF THE ROYAL NAVY by Gale and Polden, (a folding poster 22in. x 34in., in card covers, showing over 100 coloured crests of warships, training establishments etc.); OHMS: How 1200 Soldiers went to TABLE BAY, an account of life aboard The.........Castle for troops en route to South Africa in 1900, etc.
