An Officer's Mess Dress of the Life Guards
A post-war regulation mess-jacket of fine scarlet twill, with blue velvet collar, cuffs and edging within the gold lace, blue braid backseam ornaments and plaited gold chain-gimp shoulder-cords with badges of rank for a Cornet; companion Garter-Blue vest with zip- fastening (now defective); overalls with regulation triple stripes of scarlet cloth; together with a Trooper's white buff shoulder-belt marked 1 LG 921 (flask-cord broken, one attachment-loop defective).
