Lieutenant Anthony Hugo served as a Cadet or Non-Commissioned Officer 5-8.6.1807, then as Lieutenant. He took part in the Expedition to the Baltic in 1807, and in the Mediterranean 1812-14 and in the Campaign of 1815, including the Battle of Waterloo, where he was present with No. 6 Company of the Artillery, an action at which virtually all units of the King's German Legion were engaged. Its prominent role in the Battle resulted in casualty figures of over 1500 dead or injured, thus a quarter of the King's German Legion's. Officers and one fifth of other Ranks figure on the casualty returns. He died at Stadte on 28.1.1826 while serving as a Captain, Hanoverian Artillery.
