Captain Mark Morland Rushton was born in August 1945 and gazetted as a 2nd Lieutenant in October 1965. Joining the Royal Northumberland Fusiliers in August of the following year, he was promoted to Captain in the newly created Royal Regiment of Fusiliers in August 1972.
