The Transvaal Mounted Rifles
Raised by an ex-12th Lancer, Captain MacCaulay, for the Zulu War of 1879, this Native Corps sustained a number of casualties in the attack on Sekukini's Stronghold on 28.11.1879. The unit was issued with 161 Medals, 158 of them with the '1879' clasp.
