Sold with a wartime newspaper cutting which refers in detail to the recipient's gallantry in a flak-damaged Halifax returning from a raid on Leverskusen.
Pilot Officer Donald E. Jackson, a graduate of Patterson College, was in his final year as an apprentice to a chemist business in Wyandotte and Glengarry, when he enlisted for the Royal Canadian Air Force. Tragically he was killed when his Halifax of No. 434 Squadron crash landed in Yorkshire when returning from a sortie to the Heligoland Bight on 18.3.1944.
