Sold with copied photograph of the recipient in uniform, a Discharge Certificate and other papers detailing the recipients career.

Corporal Nicholas James Imo was born in Bavaria, Germany, and enlisted in the 2nd Cavalry in 1875 under the name of Nicholas James. He served in Company H, stationed for some time at Fort Ellis, Montana and fought with them in several actions against hostile Indians in 1877. He was discharged in 1880 having completed his term of service.
