Sold with a quantity of related Prize and Membership Medals, including Presbyterian Church of England awards (2), silver, for 1908 and 1909, both named 'Roy Drummond Whitehorn'; a Moderator's Badge of the Free Church Federal Council, silver-gilt; a Past President's Badge of the York Rotary Club, silver-gilt and enamel; a Lady Aberdare League Membership Badge, gilt and enamel; a Coronation 1937 Medal, on Lady's bow for wearing, and a Crown of 1937, these latter probably relating to the recipient's wife, Constance Margaret.

The Reverend Roy Drummond Whitehorn, M.B.E., was born in August 1891, the son of Joseph Hammond Whitehorn, M.V.O., and was educated at St. Paul's School and Trinity and Westminster Colleges, Cambridge. The Secretary of the Army Department, Y.M.C.A. of India, Burma and Ceylon between 1915-19, and onetime a Lieutenant in the 37th Presidency Battalion, I.D.F., he was awarded the M.B.E. for his work in India during the Great War. Whitehorn went on to hold a wide variety of posts within the Church and at Oxford and Cambridge Universities, and was a Professor of Church History. He died in November 1976.
