Both woven in cedar root with a series of openwork loops at the rim, the first of tall, flaring cylindrical form, decorated overall on the exterior with imbrication, the stitches in shades of light and dark brown overall a pale yellow ground, forming a pattern composed of banded diamond motifs; the second of flaring cylindrical form, decorated overall on the exterior with imbrication, the stitches in shades of light and dark brown overall a pale yellow ground, forming a pattern composed of six rectangular segments enclosing zig zag designs

"The Klickitat....women decorated the[ir] baskets with great flair, creating dramatic, eye-catching, zig zag bands of solid color and geometric designs...When they fashioned their coiled baskets, they usually imbricated or beaded them (Lobb, 1990, p. 105)."
