                                            A PAIR OF ROMAN GOLD AND GREEN GLASS EARRINGS 
circa 2nd-3rd century a.d.
Each composed of a square box attached to the tapering wire hoop, one end wrapped to a loop at the base of the box, the other end extended through the loop and formed into a suspension loop, the box fronted by a large square sheet with a beaded wire fringe, the center with a bezel-set green glass inlay, the suspension loop supporting a pendant in the form of a ribbed cylinder joined to a hollow globe, ornamented with four vertical beaded wires terminating on the globe in granulated clusters, an inverted pyramidal stack of granules at the base
