Manuscript indenture executed under his authority and carrying A FINE IMPRESSION OF HIS WAX SEAL, Durham, 3 August 1657. 1 page, large oblong folio, 340 x 504 mm., ON PARCHMENT, first line of text executed in elaborate penwork with large capitals, the initial "O" in "Oliver" decorated with complex scrollwork, body of text in a court hand, a large (98mm. diameter) wax seal in brown wax pendant from vellum strip at bottom. The seal with coat of arms on obverse, reverse with a fine equestrian portrait of the Lord Protector. -- CHARLES IX (1697-1718), King of Sweden. Letter signed ("Carolus") to an unidentified correspondent, Stockholm, 27 January 1700. 1 pages, folio, paper slighty browned, small repair, text in an ornate German hand.
