A Large Georgian Qama, And A Persian Quaddara
Both 19th Century
The first with broad double-edged blade cut with two watered fullers on each side and damascened in gold with panels containing foliage, and with two cartouche-shaped panels on one side at the forte containing inscriptions, and waisted horn hilt (minor split) with gold-damascened iron mounts, in original wooden scabbard covered in black leather (some damage) with iron suspension mount damascened with gold foliage (by-knife missing); the second with double-edged blade cut with central fuller on both sides of the forte, one side of the forte damascened with a panel of gold foliage, and gold-damascened iron hilt with horn grip-scales and gold-damascened iron strap, in velvet-covered scabbard with engraved white metal locket and chape
