The first 18th Century, the second 19th Century
The first with earlier curved Persian (?) shamshir blade inlaid in gold on one side with pious invocations in Arabic and with foliage on each side of the forte, the latter fluted and pierced with a slot containing six iron ball-bearings, iron hilt of characteristic form chiselled and gilt with floral sprays on a punched ground, and associated wooden leather-covered scabbard (damaged) with pierced and engraved silver lockets and chape; the second with tapering fullered double-edged blade with gold-damascened decoration on both sides (worn), pious inscriptions, and owner's name 'Khan Ali', and later bone hilt
