In excavated condition, with broad slightly tapering double-edged blade with rounded point and central fuller on each face extending for two-thirds of its length, each fuller containing a latten-inlaid running wolf mark and a further indistinct mark, iron hilt comprising straight quillons (incomplete) of rectangular section widening towards the tips, heavy chamfered wheel pommel with prominent faceted button, and sections of the original wooden grip (incomplete, held in position by wire ties)
