Second quarter of the 17th Century, probably German
With hemispherical fluted one-piece skull with conical fluted finial on a star-shaped washer (minor damage), the lower part encircled by rivets, riveted pointed fall with staple and screw for the adjustable nasal, pointed neck-guard of four upward-lapping lames with cusped edges, and cheek-pieces of three downward-lapping plates, the top one pierced with a rosette, the main edges of the neck-guard and fall turned and roped, the rivets with domed brass heads throughout (minor pitting throughout, some rivets replaced, nasal apparently later, one cheek-piece re-backed)
