The first rebuilt from flintlock, the barrel inscribed '3DR.2.N.88' (indistinct), the lock with faint St. Etienne inscription, walnut half-stock, indented cheek-piece, regulation brass mounts including screw-fastened fore-end cap, and iron trigger-plate and sling swivels (worn and heavily cleaned throughout); the second with sighted smooth-bore barrel, flat dated lock stamped 'Enfield' and with 'VR' crowned, walnut full stock (repaired at the butt), brass mounts, screwed steel barrel bands (one replaced), and stirrup ramrod (refinished throughout), Ordnance view and proof marks
