With sighted barrel of exceptional length engraved 'Gillingham' at the breech, engraved tang, rounded military lock engraved with 'GR' crowned, walnut half-stock carved with the initials 'WH' on each side of the butt (fore-stock cracked and chipped, butt repaired), brass mounts including trigger-guard with acorn finial, horn fore-end cap, and original iron-tipped ramrod (worm missing, iron parts with some pitting throughout), London proof marks
