Signed Le Mat & Girard's Patent, London, No. 8510, circa 1864
With 60-bore octagonal sighted barrel with stamped signature on the top flat, with rammer on the left side and round 16-bore grapeshot barrel beneath, plain cylinder and action, hammer with pivoting nose (nose partly replaced), chequered walnut grips, pommel with integral lanyard ring, and faint traces of original blued finish (some rust and pitting, assembly pin replaced), Birmingham proof marks
