Literature
Jean-Jacques Werner (1791-1849) was one of the most celebrated furniture makers of the Restauration period. The marquetry on these consoles has similarities to pieces of furniture stamped by him and illustrated in Denise Ledoux-Lebard's 'Ebenistes Francais de XIX Siecle.
