A LUCANIAN RED-FIGURE BELL-KRATER
attributed to the amykos painter
circa 430-400 b.c.
The A-side with a nude youth in the center moving to the right but looking back over his shoulder, his torso frontal, a mantle draped behind him and over both arms, a staff in his left hand, a fillet in his hair, grasping the shoulder of a draped woman who moves to the left, another draped woman on the right, moving right but looking back, a tendril in her raised right hand; the B-side with three draped youths; a band of laurel below the rim, a band of meander with saltire squares below the scenes, an old collection number under one handle
