A LARGE ROMAN SILVER SITULA
circa 2nd-3rd century a.d.
Conical in form on a low, splaying foot, with a flattened over-hanging rim, the exterior ornamented with three thick zones of wheel-turned incised bands, with two projecting tongue-shaped extensions at the rim perforated for attachment of the separately cast arching handle, fluted along its length, the tapering looped ends terminating in stylized duck heads with stippled details
10 in. (25.4 cm) high to the rim
