A GREEK TERRACOTTA FIGURE OF AN ACTOR
circa mid 5th century b.c.
Probably from Corinth, the hand-modelled figure standing on splayed legs, leaning back on a tail, with a mantle draped over the shoulders, the mantle with incised folds, the head thrown back, wearing a mask of a man with a spade-shaped beard and center-parted hair, with traces of polychrome, including red on the feet, black at the knees, with red for the hair and face and black for the beard
