TWO OLD BABYLONIAN TERRACOTTA IDOLS
circa 1900-1750 b.c.
Both hollow in form, with perforations in the lower corners, one depicting a deity, with a small face protruding from below a horned cap, wearing a massive robe with cross-hatched ornament, with vertical rows of circular bosses to either side; the other stepped, with five standing figures on the upper level, with long necks and small round heads, their arms folded across their bodies, their bodies overlapped by serpents(?), a triple-bodied lion-scepter on the shelf before them
