A Japanese six fold screen
painted in sumi, gofun, colour and gilt on paper depicting three Heian courtiers seated on the terrace of a pavilion before screens decorated with pine and blossoming trees, the pavilion set in a garden with a bridge crossing a meandering river among pine, blossoming prunus and stylised gilt clouds -- each panel 59in. x 22in. (149.8cms x 57cms), 18th century, (old wear, areas of soiling).
