Details
After Liu Songnian (ca. 1150-after 1225), a set of four hanging scrolls in ink and colour on silk, each depicting a different scene with palace ladies dressed in colourful flowing robes, some with elaborate headdresses, variously playing music and games, reading poetry, in conversation and strolling around, all set amidst pavilions in a garden complex with a winding stream with low foot bridges among pine, willow, flowering plum blossom and other trees -- each 53in. x 14in. (135.3cms x 36.9cms), one with inscription, signature and seal after the artist, 18th/19th Century.
