A quilt pieced from pale pink, green and white cottons with blocks of a square in a diamond pattern, quilted with a central stellar medallion, with diaper field, a roundel in each corner, the borders with hammocks linking stylised floral sprigs, machine stitched around the edge--88 x 100in. (220 x 250cm.), late 19th/early 20th century; and a "Marcella" ivory cotton coverlet woven with a central foliate roundel, within a strapwork frame with stylised flowers and foliage and outer diamond lattice border, inscribed in ink in one corner "N Hodgson 1883"--100 x 106in.
