ASSOCIATION COPY, INSCRIBED BY HEMINGWAY TO HIS SECOND WIFE PAULINE in dark brown ink on front free endpaper (which is loose and chipped at edges): "Pauline Hemingway with love from Ernest, September 1928" (most probably inscribed and given to Pauline at the end of September at her family home in Piggott, Arkansas, after the couple returned from a hunting and fishing trip in Wyoming). Sold as an association copy, not subject to return.
