cover 1874 (24 Nov.) a quite beautiful hand illustrated envelope used from Corfe Castle to Maidenhead bearing 1864 1d, plate 173 tied by "844" numeral, the obverse with animals and mythical beasts surround the address (part rebus), the reverse with decorative panel with hand in centre holding a quill, an old English legend surrounding it; some slight discolouration caused by contemporary water/ink contact but still a fine and quite extraordinary item.
