THOMAS: 1853, two entire letters to New York, each with fair to good (but slightly incomplete) strikes of the red Crowned circle "PAID/AT/ST.THOMAS", black circular "STEAMSHIP/10" and rated "1/-" in manuscript, both inscribed "Merlin" and showing despatch datestamps of 19 December; each with a lightly toned fold which just touches the frame of the first markings.
