Lot Essay

Having studied in Berlin, Dresden and Dusseldorf, Graubner exhibited widely in Germany and the United States throughout the 1960's. His work at this time could loosely be termed as nugaisme, but later evolved towards a more monochromistic style. This culminated in the 1970's with an exploration of light and volume which he realised, as in the present work, using simple forms and objects.
