MAKER'S MARKS ALEXANDER ILYICH YASHINOV AND BARBE, ST. PETERSBURG, CIRCA 1825

Rectangular, with bombé sides engraved with acanthus arcade on matte ground, the base with guilloché engraved panel bordered by engraved foliage on matte ground, the hinged cover chased with scrolling foliage and set with a rectangular grey agate cameo depicting a woman in classical dress riding on the back of a tiger and holding a scarf inscribed "ZENAIDE", marked on interior--3¾in. (95mm.) long
