Shaped baluster, on spreading circular base chased with foliate scrolls, the body and loop handle with conforming decoration enclosing scenes of Neptune and a sea goddess on matted ground, the front with two putti brandishing laurel swags and supporting a scroll and rocaille cartouche engraved with a crest, with fluted and domed hinged cover with cast shell and coral finial, marked under lip and on cover--16 1/4in. (41.3cm.) high
