A late 19th-Century oxidised and silvered-brass demonstration dip circle apparatus,
unsigned, possibly by Max Kohl, the 6in. (15.2cm.) dia. silvered-circle divided in four quadrants, with finely balanced needle in cage, mounted on a vertical circle with latitude scale divided 0-90, with worm-gear drive, raised on the horizontal circle with similar drive divided 0-180, the pillar support on black-enamelled brass tripod stand with three adjustable screw feet -- 14in. (36.8cm.) high
