An early 19th-Century lacquered-brass botanical microscope,
unsigned, with rack and pinion focusing via the adjustable stage, with three objectives, live box, forceps, two ivory sliders and tweezers, arranged and contained in the original purple plush-lined mahogany case -- 4.7/8in. (12.4cm.) wide; and a lacquered and oxidised-brass compound monocular microscope, signed on the stand H.P. AYLWARD 164 OXFORD RD. MANCHESTER, with rack and pinion focusing, fine adjustment, circular stage, sub-stage condenser and plano-concave mirror, with a quantity of slides, two objectives by C. Reichert, and a bull's-eye condenser, in mahogany case with brass carrying handle -- 14in. (36.2cm.) high
