signed on the stand ROSS LONDON NO. 3215, with rack and pinion focusing, micrometer fine adjustment, the binocular body-tubes with prism box (prism intact), the vertical section of the body-tube located on an arm over the massive limb, with complex mechanical slide adjustment, mounted on the circuit stage, with finely engraved circle, rack and pinion motion, the sub-stage condenser with similar adjustment, the lower pillar limb with plano-concave mirror, the axis supported by two shaped uprights from the Y-shaped base, contained in a mahogany carrying case, with a bull's-eye condenser, and inset brass carrying handle -- 19in. (48.3cm.) high; and a supplementary mahogany case containing a quantity of suitable accessories, largely incomplete but including an Abbe condenser, three pairs of additional eyepieces, a inch objective by James Swift, .1/8in., 0in., objectives by Wray, in cans, in., .2/3in., 1in., 3in., and 4in. objectives by Ross, and a quantity of other items, the brass-bound case -- 18in. (45.7cm.) wide
