signed on the circular-shaped plinth base Bnche & Wasferlein. Berlin., and stamped on the body limb between the stage and body-tube L. BENCHE 18/11/65, with draw-tube focusing, the stage with vertical fine-screw adjustment, the lower Oberhauser-pattern sub-stage pillar mounting with wheel condenser and concave mirror, with two eyepieces, two objectives, the original fitted mahogany case with slide compartment, the lid with ivory button pull, the underside of the lid with burnt trade or owner's mark, the case -- 9in. (23.5cm.) wide
