unsigned, in the manner of Georg Frederick Brander, the body-tube supported on an arm and adjusted by fine-screw rod to the square-section vertical pillar, supporting the stage and condenser plate, the eyepiece mounted on a sliding attachment below the body-tube, the stage with swing-arm adjustment for the specimen forceps and with an extension piece for the bull's-eye condenser, raised on a finely modelled curved support from the turned plinth base, incorporating a swivel mirror on a swinging arm mount, with a quantity of accessories including four eyepieces, six fruitwood sliders, a slider in brass case, spare glasses, a high power lens and an ivory slider, the microscope -- 11in. (29.2cm.) high
