An early 19th Century single cylinder centre pillar rotative beam pumping engine
with brass cylinder 2in. bore x 5in. stroke, cylinder head oil plug, inward facing valve chest with separate steamways, parallel motion with shaped links, the anchor links supported on cylinder head mounted tapered columns, cast beam with a single bearing at the top of the parallel centre column, rod driven under floor mounted feed pump, barrelled connecting rod, crankshaft with two main bearings in pierced trunnions and spoked flywheel, cast floor mounted on two pierced cast frames and mahogany base, the whole finished in lacquer and plate (tarnished and missing in places) with matching cheese headed bolts -- 28 x 31in. (72.5 x 78.7cm.)
