A well engineered early 20th Century 1in. scale model of the L.C.C. London Fire Brigade Merryweather single cylinder horse drawn Fire Appliance No.10,
with riveted and soft soldered caulked copper cross-tube boiler with fittings including twin water gauges, pressure gauge, safety blower, clack and blowdown valves. Engine details include cylinder approx 1in. bore x 1in. stroke with direct coupled pump, cylinder head lubricator and drain cock, spoked flywheel, the pump with change-over cock, compression domes and other details. Chassis details include channel section side frames, turning lock, draw bar, swingle trees and centre pole, metal-tyred spoked wooden wheels with brass and steel hub caps, sprung axles, coal bunker, two water tanks with hand feed pumps, opening box, driver's seat and footboards, hand brakes to rear axles, two headlamps, two ladders and rose, finished in red, black and polished brightwork, the box sides lettered L.C.C. London Fire Brigade -- 13 x 18in. (33 x 47cm.)
