Lot Essay
One of the earliest vases produced by the Vincennes factory, the vase Duplessis was made in an assortment of sizes and with variations to the decoration and modelling. In comparing the present example with those in the collection of the Louvre, it is apparent that the arrangement of encrusted flowers was to a standard pattern, although each flower was individually modelled.
